Basically special forces despite being painted as the ultimate super soldiers who are physically, psychologically and morally unshakeable, are in reality either amoral psychopaths or cultist Schofield bible thumping Zionist Christians that are all giga-roided freaks on a regular cocktail of narcotics which in combination with their line of work make them complete mental train-wrecks that often end up killing those close to them back home then committing suicide. The mystique of these guys painted by Hollywood and video games basically mythologizes them as America's secular blood gods (or superheroes) is a gross exaggeration as their actual conduct in wars is more conducive to death squads, SWAT teams or assassins than actual soldiers. Perhaps the most egregious example of this being in the movie Zero-Dark Thirty where it dramatizes the raid on Osama Bin Laden's Pakistan compound as some arduous and heroic operation that basically amounted to just breaking into his house at 3AM and killing him before he could fully wake from his slumber in the real world. This book heavily implies that the SF community and the military moreover seem to have facilitated the heroin epidemic state-side by smuggling it in from Afghanistan with the help of the DEA who suppressed the fact the the bulk of the heroin was from Afghanistan, instead labeling it as coming in from Latin America despite the grade of South American heroin being lower grade than the china-white that only grows in the golden crescent region of the world. I'll add that much of their combat ability seems to come from their unlimited ability to call in fire support in the form of aircraft and artillery, this theory jives well with the fact that many of the US military coming into Ukraine initially ended up leaving immediately after discovering that this was a real war where they face the very real prospect of dying, while being on the other end of that mass bombardment they inflicted on other "inferior" fighters. Aside from just the special forces their seems to be a lot of corruption and crime on American military bases such as Fort Bragg and Fort Hood, with the number of murders, mysterious deaths, suicides and drug overdoses being many degrees higher than in greater American society. There seems to be a culture of coverup among the higher ups in the military, as well as with civilian and military police which enables all of this crime to occur.
