because my mother tormented and damaged me
What did she do? Single mom?
Yep
She was mostly stressed and hysterical
She would just do anything to me that she felt like, call me every name under the sun, tell me I was everything bad
She was a narcissist, and no man could really stand her for long
The more I learn about you through these many anecdotes you've shared, the more it reinforces in my mind the need for you to see the film "Joker" which I have been recommending you watch for months now. You remind me of the titular character, AKA Arthur Fleck. Here is the first trailer they released for the film which itself is an absolute cinematic masterpiece:

I saw it
I didn't particularly enjoy it
But maybe I could watch it again
It is a masterpiece regardless of what you think. Unlike you, I am a refined and sophisticated connoisseur of film who has watched literally thousands of movies in my life and acquired an incomparable level of discernment and critical perspective. I would personally rate Joker an 8/10 stars.

Doesn't he find out in the end that his mother isn't even his mother?

Its quite confusing
No he finds out that Thomas Wayne is not his natural father and that his mother had subjected him to horrific and degrading punishments and various tortures while he was a young lad. He had suppressed these memories which later percolated into his conscious mind, thus fueling his desire to go ER on national television.
I also actually didn't enjoy it very much. Well, tastes differ. The basic message is that everyone is just so nasty and the main character is just trying to be nice. Whereas in reality I think everyone is just dumb as fuck AND also nasty.
Not saying it's bad, but I will say I think those who think it's a masterpiece mostly say so because they agree with the film's message.
anyone also getting high on panic attacks?

you have a similar background?
No. But what you described sounds very bad. Bad childhood I guess. Were you bullied?
