There was a dystopic novel written many years ago by Aldous Huxley I believe which contemplated a future ruled by a totalitarian regime where sex was prohibited for reasons that I can't recall. I do remember that the mechanism for preventing people from indulging in their primal, bestial urges was to engineer a sort of virus that caused physical illness (severe nausea, debilitating headache, vomiting, etc.) incidental to physiological arousal. I had always considered that to be both a brilliantly conceived plot device (Huxley was an Oxford man after all) as well as a highly practical and expedient idea for actual implementation.
