Both software and hardware have improved considerably since the original Google Glass was launched in 2013. The new one's design looks better for practical use and it will also be powered by AI. Meta and a few other companies are also working on AI glasses, so there seems to be a general change of mind among the big tech companies about the viability of wearable technologies.
