When a country experiences a population collapse, it's ultimately a shortage of livestock and horses. Countries like France, including those in the free world, are likely to experience increasing immigration. When their own livestock and horses are insufficient, they import foreign livestock and horses. Countries like Japan, which claim to be monoethnic, will have to contend with this.
The value of different age groups is undoubtedly different. Raising children is a consideration for the future workforce, while adult men and women are the current workforce. The elderly, on the other hand, have no value to the country and incur additional costs, such as healthcare.
A declining youth population will lead to the decline of many industries, resulting in kindergarten closures, school closures, and a lack of real estate buyers. An overabundance of elderly people can also lead to a conservative social climate.
