I dont like how retsu was killed

I didnt read the whole baki manga mostly I watch the anime. There was this character retsu that got slashed by the clone of Miyamoto Musashi. Retsu dies in a super humiliating way, after he didnt listen to all the advice he gets slashed and dies.
I did notice baki basically asserts the ultimate superiority of raw strength and japan martial arts and chinese 4k history is a joke. Overall I thought retsu was the decent character, sad they killed him.
