Incel is an identity.

I use the theory of demonstrated choices.

We incels were first defined by Alana, but following from repercussions and complaints, incels decided to usurp her idea and claim men invented it. Everyone is firm on this position, nobody wants to even mention Alana.

During 2018 we receive an "Official definition" from sociology, they say incel is anyone whos not getting sex since a year. The definition is contested yet again. And currently this is the definition: https://www.britannica.com/topic/incel

This definition focuses on identity, perception of the self, online subculture, attitudes towards women. Nobody contests it, except sporadically when someone finds contradictions or does not feels he belong to "incels".

It became a thing to be someone who isnt getting pussy, but he does not identifies as "incel", and theres plenty out there. They mainly reject the identity, the idea of blaming women, or the cultural attitudes of doomerism and chudism. I also reject the cultural attitudes.

Basic definitions.

A condition is an externally measurable state.
An identity is a concept tied to meaning and norms and group membership.

Use this distinction, and we know "not having sex" is a condition, but incel instead is established as an identity.

The sociology definition "person who has not had sex or a romantic relationship for a period despite wanting one" describes a condition. But demonstrated choices show that this condition is not sufficient for being an incel.

There are people who:
- are in-cel quite literally and they get rejected by egypt museum mummies and fat women
- reject the label "incel"
- reject the worldview
- reject the online subculture and refuses to use the doomerism and chudism
- not recognized socially as incels, some people can be virgin but they do not receive any shame from it, adapted to society

If: A = "not having sex" B = "being an incel

then reality shows: A can exist without B. Therefore B cannot simply equal A.

This brings me to deduce that "incel" contains additional social or psychological components beyond celibacy. Our incel world currently has vocabulary you have to learn and be adapted to, memes, hierarchies of status (incelebrity, incelcore, drama related), grievances we have to perform, movies we have to watch (joker, taxi driver, falling down) and moods and vibes we have to "check", and norms we follow (we reject poliamory, we reject tranny, we reject leftism).

We police each other sufficiently to allow me to say we are not "a condition" and we are doing choices.

A virgin farmer in rural India with no exposure to incel online jargon is not automatically an incel. What people do in our forums is they admit it, they say "we should blackpill that guy", because without the proverbial "blackpill" nobody is an incel.

A divorced man going through a 3-year dry spell is not automatically an incel. The incels will say "we have to tell him of divorce cucking", so they know a process to demoralize and depattern the normie, so he will become "Incel" finally.

In other words, we revealed what are the categories that make you incel. You have to adopt the language, and align your behaviors. And we demonstrated thru our actions and decades of rejection of "official definitions" that we are an identity. We are a strong identity at that.

Unemployed people do not usually invent alternative identities to avoid "unemployed", that is a description of their condition. If you got diabetes and someone says "diabetic", unless it carries social stigma you wont reject it.

But many celibates do reject incel identity, because it carries stigma, collective judgement and aesthetics of the doomer.

By the power of ludwig wittengstein I invoke the principle that meaning is use. If incel merely meant "not having sex" then every monk and any gamer and random dude working abroad in a coalmine would automatically be incel.

But language itself has demonstrated otherwise. Because the word now refers to a recognizable identity. Amen. I am right.
